Week 1 Power Rankings
1.
- The Boston Celtics are a dominant team. They are off to a 4-0 start and showing that if healthy, they are the team to in the east. With wins over the Cavs, Bulls, and Hornets they have already beating three playoff teams. The Cavs are the only team they did not beat by double-digits. They won the other three games by a combined 71 points.

2.
- The Denver Nuggets have started 3-0, with two of those wins coming against playoff teams. Carmelo Anthony is looking more hungry than ever and has clearly been playing the best ball out of anyone in the NBA. They have been without their 6th man J.R. Smith but have still been able to get the job done and put a lot of points on the board. They have had some close ones, but showed that they know how to pull out in a win in a tough game. They have won the 4th quater in every game so far.

3.
- The Orlando Magic have had to play games without both Vince Carter and Rashard Lewis. This has not stopped them from winning all 3 games. I don't feel that they have truly been tested yet with their wins coming against Philly, New Jersey, and Toronto, but to be 3-0 with two starters out is definately impressive. I can't wait to see what they have in store once everyone is on the court.

4.
- The Miami Heat have turned some heads so far this season. Not only is Dwyane Wade doing exactly what's expected of him but Jermaine O'Neal has been very impressive. I think it's safe to say that D-Wade + a solid big + shooters = a winning ball club. D-Wade does not only have one solid big, he has two. Udonis Haslem is averaging a doulbe-double off the bench over the first 3 games. Add that to JO's 17 and 10, and Wade's 27.7 PPG and you have a team that no one looks forward to be playing against.

5.
- The Phoenix Suns have been lucky to be playing against 3 bottom dwelling teams to start the season. Their offense allows them to score a lot of points, they have been over 120 in 2 of the first three games. The only problem is they also have given up over 100 points in all 3 games. Besides that, the Suns have looked great. Grant Hill and Channing Frye are both hovering around the 20 PPG mark, with Hill also grabbing close to 10 rebounds per game. Steve Nash has shown that he still has it, by putting on a show with an early 20 assist game. He is averaging 14 assist per game. This team has 6 guys averaging over 15 PPG. As long as Nash has that many scoring options, look for him to once again lead the league in assist.
